Are you feeling stuck? Feel like you're always battling your way through life?
Seeking help can be a difficult first step.
Are you struggling with issues related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, or major life changes?
Jessie Narula is here to support your dreams, thrive during adversity, and evolve into the person you want to be.
Counselling and psychotherapy can be a daunting process for a lot of people. As a registered clinical counsellor and supervisor (Australian Counselling Association), practicing for over a decade, it is my ethical responsibility to provide a non-judgemental, empathic space to help you feel understood, facilitate change and help you reach your goals. It is a collaborative endeavour, and we will work together to see that through.
Having lived in five different countries (Japan, India, Thailand, Canada and Australia), I bring with me a diverse range of life experiences that compliment my clinical skills as a therapist. I started out with my education (Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology) and career in Canada and then on to Asia, running my own successful practice and teaching. I moved to Australia in 2015, and has been home ever since.
My training is in positive depth psychology and integrating various techniques from CBT, solution focus, mindfulness, somatic therapy and existential therapy to name a few. My practice and style evolves with time, and recently I have embarked on a new journey as a yoga instructor and bring those elements into therapy as well. The techniques I utilise will vary depending on your unique needs. It is important for me to make sure I practice as a multicultural counsellor, by making sure interventions are relevant to your individual circumstances.
I look forward to being a part of your journey; to help you dream big, thrive under challenges, and evolve to be the best version of yourself.
"Everything can be taken from a man, but one thing: the last of the human freedoms-to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's way."
Viktor E. Frankle, Man's Search for Meaning
It is important to me to set up a safe space (online as well) where you can achieve your goals by increasing awareness and learning new skills through talk therapy. Usually clients who attend counselling sessions are struggling with some type of emotional (uncomfortable/uncontrollable feelings) or cognitive symptoms (ie. Negative thoughts about self, others or situation), or physical symptoms (headache, inability to sleep, eat, work etc.).
You will be offered an intake session for 30 minutes at no charge. It is normal for people to feel apprehensive or even anxious, and the intake session is a chance for you and me to get to know one another and talk about these worries as well as the goals you are hoping to achieve. This also allows both of us to determine whether we are a good fit to embark on the therapeutic journey together. The relationship is collaborative, I do not present to be an expert in anyones life, you are the expert, I have the psychological tools to aid your growth.
I specialise in working with adults who have experienced Trauma, either during childhood or in adulthood. However, my work includes
- Anxiety counselling
- Depression counselling
- PTSD counselling, Complex trauma Counselling
- Work Life Balance
- Mild substance abuse
- Stress
- Neurodiversity affirming therapy , Autism and ADHD
- Low self-esteem or low confidence
- Sexual identity
-Somatic based understanding of mental health
- Multicultural counselling
One doesn't need to have mental health issues or be in crisis mode to see a counsellor. The reality is therapy is useful for anyone who wants to share the burden of feelings, or to help un-clutter thoughts, to gain different perspective on things, or to evolve and be the best version of themselves through self awareness.
Contact me today to book in for your 30 min Free Intake. (Client notes, must be filled prior to the Intake appointment. Terms and Conditions apply) CURRENTLY ALL SESSIONS ARE ONLINE OR VIA TELEPHONE
